How to register an LEI in the UK

1 min read

Registering a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) with GlobalLEI UK starts with a simple online form. Keep your entity’s legal name, registered office address, Companies House number (or charity / partnership reference), and an authorised contact handy so the application can be validated without delays.

Once the form is submitted, choose a 1, 3, or 5 year plan and pay securely online using cards or bank transfer via Stripe. A VAT (0%) invoice is generated instantly, and you will receive an email confirmation with a tracking link for the application.

Next, digitally authorise GlobalLEI UK to act as your registration agent. The signed mandate allows our accredited LOU to publish and maintain your LEI record with GLEIF. If you are transferring an existing LEI, we will also obtain the necessary release from your current provider.

Our validation team checks your entity details against Companies House, FCA, Charity Commission, or other official registers as appropriate. When everything is in order, we submit the record to GLEIF and issue your LEI-typically within hours. You receive the LEI code, certificate, and renewal reminders so the identifier stays active throughout its lifecycle.
